We are a full-service real estate developer with focus on medium to large scale residential, office and retail developments in major Romanian cities.  We are currently expanding and are looking to strengthen our finance team to adequately support our local growing operations.

We are looking for an independent Accountant/Senior Accountant with complex knowledge of all bookkeeping and reporting process and at least 4 years of accounting experience, preferred in companies with international transactions knowledge, skills and experience.

The job is based in Bucharest.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily bookkeeping activities to ensure timely and accurate bookkeeping
  • Maintain accounting books according to the statutory regulations
  • Maintain tax accounting registers according to tax legislation and accurately reflect tax deductible expenses
  • Ensure VAT accounts comply with the regulations and accurately reflect prevailing business nature of the transactions
  • Perform month-end and year-end close process
  • Check documents (invoices, contracts, statements, VAT declarations, etc.) and follow up with business partners to ensure proper primary documents
  • Perform monthly reconciliations of intercompany loans, accounts payables and receivables
  • Perform weekly and monthly bank reconciliations and prepare cash balances reports
  • Perform weekly review of accounts payables and make needed payments
  • Perform monthly corporate billings
  • Prepare accurate and timely statutory financial statements
  • Prepare tax declarations and income tax returns
  • Provide necessary support to business partners, customers and suppliers and local authorities and collaborate with operational teams to ensure timely support and accurate financial reporting
  • Assist and / or prepare in preparation ad hoc reports as requested by management

 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Degree in Accounting, Economics or Finance
  • At least 4 years of experience in accountancy with a reputable international and/or local company
  • Working experience in accounting outsourcing firms and/or real estate construction, development or property management companies will be considered as a significant advantage
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and tax regulations
  • Experience with accounting software package. Experience with SAGA is an advantage
  • Strong MS Excel skills   
  • Fluent Romanian and at least intermediate knowledge of English
