Automation QA Engineer - Indigo

The IFC CM NMS offers a unified management and monitoring solution for all Ixia visibility devices. Rather than manage each device separately, the platform discovers, configures, and monitors all the visibility solutions deployed on a network. Short description:

As part of our team, you will be exposed to the latest developments in the visibility market, get to work with multiple technologies such as selenium, robot framework, django, Jenkins and build/continuously improve our automation framework.  You will be working alongside 5 QA engineers and 7 developers in an agile environment that welcomes ideas and collaboration. 

Responsibilities

In this role  you will build automation scripts using Python, Robot () and Selenium () or RESTful APIs for new products/features in the visibility area. You will work alongside passionate and experienced engineers which will allow you to grow not only your automation knowledge but networking as well as security. You will also learn and interact with all new technologies in the visibility area.

Other responsibilities:

• Learn best practices in automation/scripting and provide feedback for the continuous improvement of the automation strategy within the team
• Work in a mixed team (dev/qa) using Agile methodology and use Jira () for effort tracking and participate in brainstorming meetings to discuss design ideas or testing strategy;
• Contribute to product design and product quality scope, by working with development to design and ensure QA automated and manual coverage for software features and hardware platforms
• Debug/troubleshoot regressions run through Jenkins (). You will work on a day to day basis with latest code sourcing tools, eg. git and BitBucket Attlasian suite;
• Analyze security scans run through 3-rd party vulnerability scanning tools. This means you will keep up with the latest vulnerabilities disclosed and be able to assess the impact for our products, working with tools from Tenable and Qualys;
• Work with 3-rd party equipment and troubleshoot issues that come up, eg. routers, firewalls, traffic probes on top of IPv4, IPv6 mediums or even proprietary protocols (eg. ) - learn a lot about network monitoring and security;
• Use proprietary testing equipment (IxNetwork/IxLoad/Hawkeye) or other popular traffic tools, eg Scapy (), for traffic generation and protocol simulation;
• Root cause isolation and proper bug logging to focus on problem description, steps to reproduce, logs/diagnostics;                          

• Communicate testing delays and bottlenecks in a timely manner;             

   

Requirements

• Basic scripting skills (Python preferred, Selenium/Rest API are a plus);
• Problem-solving mindset with a strong interest in automation
• Basic linux operating skills; Knowledge of Linux Oss (centos/ubuntu etc)
• Working experience in Agile;
• Basic knowledge of networking TCP/IP protocols;
• Good communication skills; able to communicate in clear and concise manner with QA/Dev groups/Support Teams/Customers;
• Minimum experience: 1+ years;
