Business Analyst (BI, Data Warehouse Team)

Responsibilities

• Gathers business requirements and translate them into written specifications (use cases, workflows)
• Goes through the business specifications with developers, gathers and incorporates their feedback
• Has input in creating the strategy for the product and takes part in implementing it
• Works closely with Product Owner, Stakeholders, and Data Warehouse development team in order to bring to surface relevant data, through algorithms and reports, that allows people inside the company to act on all opportunities and create major business value
• Works closely with the development team during the analysis phase but also during development and release phase
• Cooperates with other teams/platforms by providing details regarding Data Warehouse projects, with the purpose of offering to stakeholders the required data
• Has the ability to simplify the business specifications but without affecting data quality, with the purpose to reduce the involved resources
• Provides accurate and insightful analysis leading on precise algorithms
• Leverage data analysis skills to analyze business areas and understand source systems data
• Is highly involved in each project to be launched in order to assure that the specifications are correctly understood by the development team and the delivered results are in accordance with the stakeholder's needs
• Is constantly focused on data quality by verifying the accuracy of the information offered to stakeholders
• Creates documentation of the algorithms, reports and offers support to all interested users inside the company regarding the Data Warehouse product
• Is always up to date regarding the company’s development plan in order to identify areas of the business to be improved
• Facilitates the negotiation of requirements among multiple stakeholders
• Participates actively together with the Product Owner in all organizational meetings: Grooming, Review, Planning

Requirements

• 3+ years of working experience in BI projects, ideally within a very large data set environment
• University degree in a quantitative academic discipline (. economics, statistics, mathematics, cybernetics, etc.) or equivalent professional experience
• Knowledge of Agile process and principles
• SQL skills, with experience in working/querying relational datasets from multiple sources
• Very good Excel skills
• Experience using Jira and Confluence
• Knowledge of BI tools might be a plus (QlikView, Qlik Sense, Tableau, Power BI, others)
• Self-motivated, proactive, with a constructive approach and open-minded
• Advanced analytical abilities & problem-solving skills
• Very organized in working
• Time management skills
• Attention to details
• Capable of understanding very fast business processes and what is relevant in terms of business growth
• Capable of spotting flaws in processes and data inconsistencies
• Candidates must have hands-on experience with gathering business requirements, documenting the report, algorithms and analysis specifications
• Excellent communication skills in spoken and written English with experience in presenting results in both written and verbal form
