Business Analyst

Position summary:

The position is within HARMAN’s Connected Car Division. This regular level individual will be the responsible of the data transformation and analysis of the Business Operations Reporting in regards to the Telematics Business Unit Programs. The primary mission is to achieve transparency and synergies between departments and to provide an accurate image of the status of each Domain at all levels. The position will be coordinated by the Operations Reporting Manager.

Job Responsibilities:

• Acquiring data from primary or secondary data sources and maintaining databases
• Interpreting data, analyzing results using statistical techniques
• Developing and implementing data analyses, data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality
• Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
• Locate and define new process improvement opportunities
• Monitor and audit data quality
• Create data dashboards, graphs and visualizations
• Collaborate with clients, product managers, and other analysts to develop and review requirements and design
• Ensure the proper functionality of the database including but not limited to: performance, disk space, limited or no data errors, Integrity check
• Facilitate and follow-up on meetings with major stakeholders

Basic Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor Degree in Engineering with an emphasis on Economics
• Fluent in English, both written and verbal
• German speaking preferred, but not mandatory
• Must be familiar with a project’s complete life cycle implementation of at least 1 to 2 projects.
• Good knowledge of Excel, PowerQuery, SQL
• Knowledge of Agile SCRUM methodology

Desired Characteristics:

• Hands on experience in Qlik Sense development, dashboarding and data modeling and reporting (ad hoc report generation) techniques.
• Must be good at Data transformation, the creation of QVD files and set analysis.
• Experienced in application design, architecture, development and deployment using Qlik Sense. Must be efficient in front-end development and know visualization best practices.
• Strong database designing and SQL skills. Experienced in RDMS such as MS SQL Server, Oracle etc.
• Able to comprehend and translate complex and advanced functional, technical and business requirements into executable architectural designs.
• Well-versed with concepts and techniques of Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing.
• Skilled in Qlik Sense web integration, advanced SQL knowledge, Stored Procs, SQL scripting, nested selection, stored procedures, triggers, analytic functions, tuning etc.
• Strong oral and written communication skills for interfacing with clients and other departments
• Comfortable in proactively communicating with others both within and outside of the immediate team to resolve issues and get questions answered
• Ability to multi-task, triage issues, react well to changes in a fast-paced environment
• Strong problem-solving skills, inquisitive approach
• Ability to work independently to resolve complex issues in a timely manner

Eligibility Requirements:

• Willingness to travel (1-2 times/ year)
