Chief accountant

APT is recruiting for its client, a well-known company in the retail area, an Chief Accountant.

Requirements:

• University Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics. An Expert accountant is preferable.
• Excellent command of English
• Minimum 3 years experience in a senior position in the accounting department ;
• Excellent knowledge of all legal tax- and accounting aspects;
• Excellent knowledge of the National and International Accounting Standards;
• Ability to prepare accrual based financial statements and supporting schedules
• Ability to work in a team and propose solutions;
• Ability to keep deadlines and to require the same from other staff members

Responsibilities:

• Organizes and manages the overall accounting processes in the company- prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records and financial statements;
• Prepare and maintaining statutory books of accounts viz, journal, ledger, cash book and subsidiaries in compliance with time & accuracy norms and Accounting Standards;
• Reviews the reconciliations (with banks, suppliers, customers, employees);
• Maintain property and equipment database and prepare and reconcile monthly depreciation reports and fixed asset sub-ledgers;
• Ensures the proper archiving of accounting records;
• Responsible for the communication with the tax authorities
• Responsible for filing all declarations and other documents according to deadlines and legal requirements;
• Compute taxes owed and prepare tax returns, ensuring compliance with payment, reporting and other tax requirements;
• Distribute the working tasks properly between team members;
• Monitors the team work and the keeping of deadlines.
