Commodity Purchasing Expert

Responsible for managing the entire sourcing and procurement cycle as well as developing and implementing procurement plans to support forecasted needs for commodities. Activities include:

• Implementing strategies for negotiating commodity purchase agreements based on in-depth knowledge of foreign and domestic markets for optimum pricing and terms
• Purchasing commodities in accordance with approved buying programs, using trade judgment in implementation and/or the established procurement policy
• Ensuring the availability of materials in the supply chain as scheduled and maintaining the inventory at minimum acceptable levels
• Monitors inventory requests, production schedules and purchase requisitions to coordinate purchasing activities for current/anticipated demand of materials and services
• Identifies and selects suppliers that meet the organization’s standards of price, quality and delivery
