Cyber defense analyst

Cyber Security Cyber Defense Center (CDC) Detect Analysts are focused on addressing information security incidents, including phishing, information theft, misuse of data, intrusions, hostile probes, and malicious software. This is a technical position.  Daily activities include analyzing incidents using one of the many available tools. Then investigating and determining whether a threat applies to Ford. Candidates must be willing to work 4 weekends per year.  For those 4 weeks, only when you are Shift Lead, you work 2 weeks on an 11am-8pm shift during Daylights savings time and 2 weeks on a 10am-7pm shift during Standard time.

Outside those 4 weeks, must be able to work late or possibly during weekends for Critical events - this is not frequent.

-Experience with networking and related network tools is helpful.  General understanding of information security.

-Strong deductive reasoning, critical and Analytical thinking, problem solving, and prioritization skills to be able to triage cyber security issues and other issues to resolution. Combined with ability to have initiative to understand what is required or what management means and complete

-Strong oral and written communications skills – able and willing to communicate technical items in non-technical terms

-Able and willing to take directions from supervisor – willingness to serve with loyalty

-Willing to support Security and Controls

-Demonstrate high level of appropriate independent initiative, drive for results, quality methods and integrity

-Must be willing to concurrently work on multiple assignments/projects and complete on schedule to quality

-Must be willing to accept different assignments, work on projects, and be willing to do what is requested of them.  This may include changes in tasks/assignments/priorities as needed to support business requirements/concerns

-Willingness to take initiative to complete work and/or projects/deliverables as necessary.

-SharePoint is the main tool utilized for documentation.  It would be good for candidate to have strong working knowledge and experience with SharePoint

-This would be a perfect position for a candidate who is technically oriented, has a willingness to learn and is a “night owl”, ., prefers to work later hours (for example 10am-7pm or 9am-6pm or 11am-8pm)

-Successful candidates should have a strong interest in network, application, data security, and an interest in technology and continuously growing their security skillset

-The candidate should display a breadth of technical knowledge that spans network, server, PC, and applications

-Leadership behaviors include focus on teamwork, solid oral and written communications skills, and a high level of personal integrity

Nice to Have Skills: 

-Strong application security knowledge and ability to diagnose possible application security concerns

-A background and understanding of modern computing vulnerabilities, attack vectors and exploits would be a plus

-A background in one of more of the following:  Ford In-Vehicle technologies; Ford Plant Floor systems both IT and Control Engineer managed; Apple technologies (Mac, iPhone, iPad); Android; Ford Cloud solutions; Ubuntu Client

-Strong scripting language (PowerShell, bash, etc..) knowledge/experience

-Strong Java scripting language diagnosis

-Strong SharePoint and documentation skills

Position Qualifications 

• Bachelor degree in computer related field
• 1-2 years experience in a security related field
• 3 years experience in infrastructure development/operations

This is a technical position that will utilize strong Ford technical network, ., TCP, skills as well as Linux/UNIX, Windows Server/Clients, application and other Ford technology skills. You will gain additional Competency, Experience and Skills in Cyber Security, Networks, Systems, Applications, and other technologies.
