Cyber Security Engineer

Context of the job:

Job mission:

Cegeka is a System Integrator that provides Managed Services for multiple customers across Europe on a 24 by 7 basis. 

This function currently operates under normal business hours, from Monday to Friday, with the possibility to be extended to a shifts schedule, once the SOC grows. Also our engineers are involved in a 24/7 stand-by schedule that occurs outside business hours.

What you need to do:

As a Cyber Security Engineer, you will work as part of the Cegeka Security Operations Center. Your main responsibilities include:

• Security Monitoring:
• Monitor security events received from customer’s monitored servers and then take appropriate action based on customer scenario’s and action plans

• Review security alerts escalated by level 1 and level 2 analysts
• Assisting customers with technical security related issues

• Security Incident Analysis:

• Performing 3rd line analysis on security incidents on various platforms
• Detailed log file analyses and digital forensics
• Threat hunting on Cegeka’s security monitoring platforms

• Operational security:

• Extensive knowledge of one or more scripting languages (preferably python) and Jenkins – automation is in your blood;
• Technical security incident analyses;
• You have an interest in Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence and its applicability in Information Security;
• Basic knowledge of penetration testing is a plus.

What you need to know:

• Minimal 3 years professional experience as a Security Analyst and/or a very strong affinity with security;
• Thorough technical understanding of the concepts of security incident management, digital forensics, investigating complex security incidents;
• Having very strong analytical skills to look for the hidden treasure in a security incident, to evaluate current threats, translate it towards actionable items towards Cegeka and its customers;
• Creative and ambitious, so showing the ability to support the Cegeka Security Operations Center to continuously improve and innovate;
• Hands-on experience with following technologies is considered a huge plus:
  • Bash (Unix shell) scripting;
  • Python;
  • Splunk.
