Data Expert

We are seeking to fill in our role as Data Expert Support. You will be expected to either work in teams or independently, to manage multiple critical tasks simultaneously and to meet project delivery dates. You should be technically proficient and have experience in critical uptime operational models with high security requirements. 

Daily you do some of these: 

• Assist in the definition of solution based on data architecture and design specifications; 
• Work with IT vendors to install, configure, maintain, and upgrade related applications; ·        
• Provide support in functionality and acceptance testing during the implementation of solutions based on data; 
• Ensure optimal performance of the data applications; 
• Regularly monitor and reconcile the performance of the data applications to predefined performance thresholds and take appropriate actions where required; 
• Implement established policies and procedures on data specific applications; 
• Data applications license tracking and license usage optimization; 
• Maintain data applications security and data integrity through the use of access codes and efficient password system; 
• Perform regular data backup, and validate the integrity of data backup; 
• Perform automation and script writing; 
• Investigate and resolve incidents/ requests relating to data applications, and escalate irresolvable faults/ issues to relevant vendors/ suppliers where appropriate; 
• Provide support in application development troubleshooting; 
• Ensure availability of accurate documentation of standards, guidelines and procedures for effectively managing and maintaining the databases; 
• Prepare/compile agreed periodic activity and performance reports; 
• Implement and support audit and compliance regulations as per requirements; 

Long story - short: 

• You are expected to be experienced with SQL. Previous experience with a large environment in a high demand-based, service oriented environment is highly valued;  
• Understanding how vast amounts of data come together is something that you really need to be up to;

Not critical, but important: 

• Technical field graduate (Computer Science / Information Technology / Information Systems); 
• Experience with SQL Tools and Data Related Applications ;
• Be familiar with problem troubleshooting, response, escalation, report and consolidation ;
• Experience in complex, large-scale IT system operation service delivery ;

Know this? - Awesome: 

• Knowledge of ETL (preferable ODI) is a plus 
• Comfortable with a diverse technological environment 
• Professional certifications 
• Unix knowledge is very nice to have
