Data Operations Support Engineer
Responsibilities and work tasks

Understand internal systems, integrations and data models
-
Define ( together with data-teams ), document , maintain and implement scenarios for Authentication and Permissions ( the documentation will be held in Confluence and will be used as a widely guide inside Visma by all teams ).

Manage system and activity logs.

Maintain and manage environment secrets ( role-based access to tools and resources within environments (example: Vault ).
-
Create Metrics and Reports which allows Visma to monitor the activity on different data-sets.
-
Interact with teams to deliver and process data in response to inquiries, issues, and needs for software, procedures, and services ( orchestrate , test and monitor ).

Create, maintain and implement optimal data access procedures

Connect with business stakeholders & respond to incidents and questions

Prepare data for advanced analytics and reporting

Discuss with stakeholders and apply the best practices related to security and access in order to respond their needs

Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.

Data testing and validation

Ensure the quality of existing and new functionalities

Contribute to data platform documentation

Look after data confidentiality, integrity and availability
Qualifications and experience
We are looking for a candidate with 5+ years of experience working with data and with operational and processes background experience, who has attained a graduate degree or equivalent experience in IT Engineering or Computer Science. The candidate should be a well organized person with good communication skills eager to manage a process from documentation to implementation , automation , support and maintenance.
Additional nice to have competencies

Understanding of ETL (extract, transform, load) or ELT (extract, load, transform) data flows

SQL querying skills

Scripting skills ( such as Python , Javascript or others necessary to automate routines ).

Reporting or data visualization tools: Tableau, Google Data Studio, SQL Server Reporting Services, etc.

Data Warehouse tools: Microsoft Azure, Google BigQuery, Amazon Redshift, Snowflake, Teradata, SQL Server Integration Services, PostgreSQL, etc.

About the Team
The position is part of the Business Data Analytics team, which is responsible for supervising and providing data governance for the entire Visma company. The main focus is on building a standardized and secured way of accessing data from different sources such as GoogleBig Query, Azure, MySQL, etc using tools like Tableau , PowerBI , Google Sheets , etc in order to fulfill the requests from market analysts and controllers throughout the group.
As a Data Operations Support Engineer in our team you will be the connection between all data consumers inside Visma ( including the management and the board representatives) and the person responsible for defining efficient solutions for our internal stakeholders. You will be involved in Data Delivery team projects using the latest trends and technologies and will contribute to the evolution of Business Intelligence in Visma. Usability, performance and stability are keywords.
