Cmed is a technology led CRO that has helped its customers deliver highly successful clinical trials for almost 20 years. Our team of experts understands clinical trials and the challenges they present & utilise our in-house web platform, encapsia, an innovative clinical data suite designed to revolutionize the way we gather and manage data in clinical trials.
As a Data Programmer you will be and an integral member of the Data Science Programming team, extracting data from Cmeds encapsia Clinical Database and creating well designed and impactful visualisations (encapsia Insights) that make the data interactive and actionable allowing for quicker review and smarter decisions from the clinical trial data.
You’ll be working on a variety of functional project tasks from start to finish, from reviewing the study protocol, documenting requirements, the development of visualisations within the encapsia Insight html web-frameworks using SQL, JavaScript, CSS, html and performing testing activities until production-ready.
As you develop in the role you’ll be providing support and guidance to colleagues and clients on the use of encapsia visualisations & reports allowing us to identify the best way to visually depict data analytics results, finding new insights and assisting in problem solving. Proactive and timely communication with internal and external customers alongside working as a one collaborative team is important to us.
Qualifications and attributes
- A passion for problem solving, research and for answering questions with data.
- Degree or equivalent in computer science, mathematics, statistics, life sciences or related fields
- Experience in and enthusiasm for big data analytics and insights
- At least one-year experience in programming, preferably at least one of the following areas:
- SQL
- Web development… JavaScript/ /HTML/CSS
- Data programming/OOP such as R, Python, Hadoop, C++, Java
- BI Reporting (Highcharts/Power BI/SpotFire/Tableau)
- Knowledge of file repository systems such as Git, Mercurial or SVN
- Good interpersonal skills
- Strong spoken and written English language
The successful candidate will be a motivated self-starter with the ability to solve data analysis problems independently.
