Datacenter Engineer

For our operations in Sebes we’re searching for a skilled Datacenter Support Engineer to provide1st level of support for our client’s datacenter

Service focus on datacenter support, installation/configuration, changes, and issues break/fix.

Job Description:

• Perform condition-based, interval-based (scheduled), and Customer-requested cleaning work to meet all defined standards for the spaces that are cleaned. 
• Install and maintain replacement hardware and software (initial image/jumpstart) according to agree upon standards
• Unpacking, racking and stacking, railing, asset tagging, initial jumpstart of servers, install to designated racks, power connectivity, network connectivity, fiber connectivity from device to corresponding patch panel and PDUs
• De-commissioning of servers (including removal of all cables and assets and preparing/packing (lite) for return shipment) and hardware break-fix
• Replace defective parts and systems, including those for preventive maintenance as required
• Dismantle and dispose (shutdown and disposal at the end of the lifecycle) of systems and components in accordance with Customer policy and in compliance with applicable law.
• Ensure all decommissioned hardware is secured and data is removed per Customer Standard Operations procedure
• Conduct regular audits and comparisons between the tape library physical inventory and the tape library management inventory.
• Load encrypted tapes into/remove from tape libraries
• Log and track physical tapes that are checked in and out
• Monitor and track usage of consumables and storing consumables (. patch cables, cable ties, cross-connects, transceivers, tools, etc.) and inform Supplier for replenishment

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience supporting enterprise datacenter
• Strong knowledge of Linux and/or Windows server
• Skilled in cabling racking and stacking, railing, asset tagging, initial jumpstart of servers
• Storage and backup experience are nice to have
