Environmental compliance Specialist

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Environmental Compliance Specialist at our Craiova plant.  

From Craiova we manufacture thousands of our generator products that are shipped to a diverse customer portfolio on a global scale. As the Environmental Compliance Specialist, you will join a dedicated HSE team who ensure the safety and well being of over 830 employees on site, and you will contribute by ensuring that the plant is compliant with local regulations and legislations.

As well as implementing measures that achieve local compliance, you will collaborate with HSE colleagues on an international scale to ensure the plant is meeting global initiatives set by the business.

This is an integral role to the success of the Craiova plant, presenting varied and interesting challenges that will test your knowledge and provide excellent exposure on an international level.

Your impact will be seen in these and other ways:

• Owner of environmental compliance related activities, applying specialized knowledge of engineering and/or project management principles and practices across various areas and projects.  Ensuring all environmental regulations and standards are adhered to as they impact the company products, processes, components and facilities.
• Apply technical expertise on complex components or projects and work under minimal supervision for regulatory compliance efforts and other applicable programs.
• Participate as a key contributor and be accountable for cross-functional project success with various stakeholders.
• Analyze and communicate information to many internal stakeholders as it relates to environmental compliance matters. Establish and facilitate meetings and training on compliance.
• Lead small projects or portions of large projects.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts from related groups to drive efforts to improve environmental performance or compliance processes and identify opportunities to establish common processes and tools.
• Support the defining and execution of corrective actions
• Influence key external stakeholders and business leaders, escalating compliance issues as appropriate.
• Coach and mentor less experienced compliance personnel.
• Demonstrates depth of knowledge of environmental disciplines and leverage expertise on other projects. Proposes innovative initiatives and projects.
• Escalate and drives resolution to compliance questions and issues; provides technical direction for a project or a project team.
• Troubleshoot complex problems and recommend appropriate actions
• Participates as a key contributor and is accountable for cross-functional project success with various stakeholders.

Skills and Experience Required:

• Existing experience in environmental compliance from a production setting, with demonstrable knowledge of local environmental legislation and regulations.
• College, university, or equivalent degree in Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Business, or related technical or scientific field preferred.
• Knowledge of  ISis essential.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with stakeholders at all levels.
• Experienced in change management and continuous improvement projects.
• Influential with the ability to motivate others to maintain a positive, environmentally focused culture.
• The ability to multi- task and manage a variety of small projects, ensuring implementation in a timely manner
• Results driven, even under tough circumstances.
• An analytical mind with the ability to interrogate data and from that come up with innovate solutions to potential problems.
• Fluent in Romanian and English is essential.
