Description

Role Summary:

Essential Responsibilities:

• Ensure full compliance of accounting records (timely, accurate and documented) with the Romanian Tax and Accounting Laws
• Responsible for a proper STAT bookkeeping and reconciliations: working in STAT GL, AP, AR, Fixed Asset, Inventory Ledgers accounting in the proper period, fully based on valid documentation which is compliant with local STAT and TAX legislation & GE internal requirements
• Work closely with Strategic partners (Genpact, 4Q etc.) and business team who are in charge with USGAAP reporting, Buy to Pay activities etc.
• Work on GAAP to STAT reconciliation and related documentation
• Support to local Global Ops. employees, GE businesses and Project teams
• Provide monthly reports and ad hoc reports to relevant stakeholders as requested
• Support periodic audits from STAT auditors
• Supervise proper archiving of the documents to ensure full safeguards around company records
• Support Finance Manager – Statutory to resolve daily operational issues
  b. Taxation and fillings:
• Assist / prepare tax and related returns, proper and timely calculation, submission and settlement of liabilities to the state budget as per tax regulations (VAT, Corporate Income Tax, WHT)
• Maintains professional relations with local authorities, support for periodic audits from tax authorities
• Initiate tax and other urgent payments workflows where applicable
• Prepare various statistical reports

• Minimal audit breaches on STAT and TAX compliance
• Accurate, timely & compliant STAT & TAX financial records & reporting
• STAT Account reconciliations – focus on timely & qualitative work, limited number of open items

Required profile

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Degree in accounting
• 3 years+ experience in an accountant position
• Good knowledge of accounting and tax laws
• Fluent in Romanian and English
• Good command of MS Office (especially Excel)
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Proactive approach
• Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional, global team environment
• Analytical thinking
• Able to meet tight deadlines
• EU work permit

Desired Characteristics:

• Able to work with accounting software (SAP is a plus)
• Membership or student with relevant professional bodies CEECAR, CAFR, Fiscal Consultant, ACCA is a plus
