Ideal candidate:

As a Financial Assistant, you will be responsible for making all day to day accounting entries, reconciling the bank and reviewing the nominal activity before handing it over to the Financial Manager for review.

The work on each task should be carried out with attention to detail but also in a cost-effective and efficient manner.

You will report to the Financial Accountant.

Job description:


ROLE:

Using Company financial system on a daily basis:

♦ Post all bank receipts from the bank statements
♦ Prepare a bank reconciliation
♦ Post into Financial System:
♦ Sales Invoices
♦ Purchase invoices
♦ Cash expenses from the cash banking sheets
♦ Credit card and other staff expenses
♦ Update the fixed assets register for additions and disposals

Approvals, Reconciliations & Query Management:

♦ Approve purchase invoices on Dropbox
♦ Reconcile supplier statements to the purchase ledger balance
♦ Reconcile balance sheet control accounts & explain items
♦ Liaise with suppliers and deal with any queries

Assisting the Accounts Supervisor with:

♦ Reconciling the Banking control accounts and analyzing differences
♦ Reconciling supplier statements to the purchase ledger balance
♦ Setting up the payment run reports for Suppliers, PAYE and taxes ready for approval
♦ Contribution and EBITDA analysis compared to Budget
♦ Actual results for the month and year to date.

FUNDAMENTAL COMPETENCES REQUIRED FOR THE ROLE:

a. Studies:

♦ Bachelors Degree.

b. Professional Experience:

♦ Previous responsibilities in similar roles
♦ Ability to meet deadlines.

c. Knowledge:

♦ Advanced French & English Language.
♦ Good knowledge of the English accounting system.
♦ Good knowledge of UK accounting systems
♦ Good knowledge of Accountancy

d. Computer Capability:

♦ Advanced level of Microsoft Office
♦ Advance knowledge of EXCEL
♦ Good knowledge of organizational programs.
♦ Excellent knowledge of Excel and MS Word.

e. Personal Skills:

♦ Well organised
♦ Good logical thinking, memory, analysis and synthesis capacity.
♦ Experience in working on multiple domains simultaneously.
♦ Fairness, tenacity, seriousness, optimism.
♦ Enthusiasm
