Front-end Developer

We are looking for a Front-end developer who has a deep understanding of HTML and writing semantic markup. The candidate must also have a strong focus in CSS especially working with preprocessors such as Webpack.

About their stack

They build simple, reliable systems on top of technologies we understand and trust. They're primarily built in PHP using MVC principles, and they rely on MySQL and Apache to keep things running.

They aim to be as agile as possible, with bi-weekly meetings, communication through Telegram, and daily deployments for mission-critical code, working optimally to keep improving our codebase.

In the frontend they use Tailwind to create utility first components, along with SCSS for custom pieces of code, we also use Webpack as our pre-processor, to help bundle, minify and export our CSS, JavaScript and imagery.

They use a mixture of JavaScript routing and ES6 to help create modular JavaScript. Over the past year they’ve taken strong steps to move their system away from Gulp & Bower, to focus more on a purely Webpack integration. 

Since some parts of their system are still legacy and are still reliant upon Bower/Gulp it’s important for they to keep working towards moving away from these dependencies.

The team is lean, and they deploy many times a day, supported by a test suite we trust and a culture of code review.

REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience with HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript
• Strong focus in SCSS/LESS
• Capable of writing modular JavaScript code (ES6)
• Good understanding of MVC architecture
• Experience in Twig templating language
• Understanding of Tailwind/Bootstrap (CSS Frameworks)
• Mobile first methodology (media queries)
• Experience with jQuery and
• Experience with coding HTML Emails
• Comfortable working with PHP / MYSQL
• Experience working with Composer
• Good understanding of GIT
• Capable of working with pre-processors
• Webpack (primarily)
• Bower / gulp (legacy)
• Strong communication skills with knowledge of English
