Front-End Software Engineer

We are looking to add a passionate and dedicated Front End Software Engineer to our team.

Project description and responsibilities:

You will be working within the Group Technology division, on an entirely new project developing highly performant real-time user interfaces.  You will work alongside, and supported by, EveryMatrix’s existing front-end teams – with a wealth of experience in the development of cutting-edge online casino and gaming sites – to develop an exciting new addition to our product portfolio.

The primary development language is expected to be JavaScript, and candidates will be able to show proven expertise in one or more common front-end frameworks (such as React, Vue, or Angular) while being adaptable and enthusiastic about trying new frameworks or approaches – your passion for programming and delivering great solutions will be greater than your passion for any one framework.

More than just a regular website, this project will entail working with embedded systems and unusual input/output devices – so a passion for computing beyond just the web browser is critical.  Linux/Unix, Docker, Kubernetes, , Web Services, REST and SSE – if you’re as happy in a command-line as Chrome, and love these kinds of technologies, this is the role for you.

Requirements:

• Degree-level qualification in Software Engineering or a related discipline
• 3+ year experience in working with one or more JavaScript Frameworks
• Practical experience working with Unix or Unix-like OSes (Linux etc.)
• Good understanding of Docker and container technology
• A passion for engineering, not coding
• Proven interest in testing, code review, and code quality;
• Team player
• Experience working with REST web services and/or web APIs.
• Design patterns, optimization techniques and best practices;
• Passion for learning and perfecting skills;
• Ability to work in a Kanban system with fast switching priorities
• Good English, both written and spoken;

Nice to have:

• Experience working on real-time web frontends;
• Advanced knowledge of HTML5, especially in-depth rendering tricks for performance;
• CSS3 knowledge
• Working with Kubernetes
• Experience with automation: AQA, deployments and other types.
