DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support overall financial statement preparation by leading a team that executes accurate and timely completion of accounting activities in compliance with internal guidelines and procedures and external regulatory requirements;
- Ensure month-end activities, balances sheet reconciliation, fixed assets are performed as per the agreed deadlines without any process disruption;
- Ensure the General Ledger team are replying to all queries in a timely manner and all queries are dealt correctly and efficiently;
- Acting as an escalation point for all general ledger issues raised by the team members, leadership and internal customers;
- Following control procedures and maintaining operational procedures;
- Regular reporting and analysis to key senior managers in the business;
- Ad-hoc duties to support the business;
- Developing a motivated and energetic team;
- Maintain excellent working relationship with internal customers;
- Performance management of the team;
- Actively seeking opportunities for continuous improvement initiatives in cooperation with GL Manager;
- Ensure continuous review, development, and improvement of consistent processes and procedures.
- Support for internal and external audits
- Initiate changes when required;
- Participate and assist as necessary, in change, improvement and special projects as required;
- Harmonize the processes and procedures across the business;
- Active participation in the recruiting process
- SAP key user;
- Support & involvement for business improvement process.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education
- University Degree in Economic Studies
- ACCA/CIMA enrollment and or certification is an advantage
Experience
- A good knowledge & understanding of the General Ledger function and the month-end closing process
- Experience in working in a cross functional environment
- Working experience in shared service center, outsourcing industry
- People management experience
Skills
- Fluency in English and other language as French/Spanish/German/Italian would be a plus
- Technical (good accounting knowledge, experience with US GAAP, overall understanding of AP, AR, Treasury and how each of the functions impacts the month-end closing process)
- Experience in GL process transitions is a plus
- Strong problem-solving skills, documentation skills, research and resolution skills, data analysis and prioritization skills
- Flexibility during the month-end closing period
- Available for travel
- Ability to communicate with individuals from different backgrounds, deal with different personality types
- Good sense of urgency and decision-making skills, responsible and reliable person
- Well organized and ability to organize the team
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to be effective with company management and team members
- Ability to solve urgent matters and work under pressure
- Proficient in Excel, Outlook, SAP
- Experience with other reporting platforms is a plus (HFM, OneStream etc.)
