Role
· Position is based in Ploiesti, with a direct report to the Geosciences Manager
· You'll be responsible for controlling the quality of the seismic data collected and interpreting it in order to create maps of the build-up of hydrocarbons.
o Plans, organizes and monitors the acquisition and processing of new seismic/acoustic data in new wells, new surveys.
o Performs independently seismic interpretation of VSP, 3D and 2D seismic data
- Well ties
- Horizon picking/mapping, Faults interpretation
- Time-depth modelling
- Structural modelling is a plus
· You'll also examine the physical properties of rocks, as well as gathering and evaluating well data in order to build reservoir models.
- Rock physics/Inversion knowledge is a plus and highly desirable
- Seismic attributes, Spectral decomposition
· You’ll be responsible to assess field/reservoir potential, to mature prospects from idea, leads to volume and risk assessments.
Qualification
A postgraduate qualification in a relevant course, such as a Master’s degree in geophysics or geoscience will improve
Relevant degree subjects include physical, mathematical and applied sciences and engineering.
Skills

Work experience
· At least 3 years’ experience as Geophysicist, Geoscientist within Oil and Gas upstream sector
· Experience in the Romanian geological basins/fields
