German - English Content specialist

Better Students is looking for a German - English Content specialist to join our team in Timișoara for an indefinite period. Applicants need not have their fixed residence in Timisoara. Remote applications are also welcome.

Better Students is a leading publishing company for supplementary instructions to high school students in several European countries. We provide students the guidelines and tools they need to earn better grades and to achieve academic success. Currently, we help more thanstudents annually.

For our upcoming website aimed at high school students in English speaking countries we are searching for a German - English Content specialist with a keen interest in English literature and culture.

As a Content specialist your responsibilities will be to:

• Handle projects of translation from German to English 

• Editing and translating from German our educational products (such as analysis guides for literary works, movies and speeches)

• Make sure that each product meets high academic standards while also keeping in mind that it has to be accessible to our target audience

• Manage the production of educational products along with our editorial team and our talented writers and reviewers

We expect you to:

• Have a bachelor's or master’s degree in German literature / language / translation

• Extremely high level of German. Preferably took the Abitur and also attended German Primary School

• Be fluent in English (C1 level is mandatory)

• Have excellent writing and editing skills in English and German

• Ensure translated content conveys original meaning and tone

• Edit content with an eye toward maintaining its original format

• Be highly interested in literature, writing and common educational practices to ensure that our products fully match the needs of our customers

• Be an avid reader of both fiction and nonfiction
