Hardware engineer

The rapidly growing IRIS ROBOTICS Team at Iasi is looking for dynamic, creative, talented, inspirational and committed Hardware/Electrical Engineers to deliver an extraordinary pipeline of new products.

This role will focus on embedded electronic design and product development lifecycle for our ambitious Robot product roadmap. The successful candidate will have experience in analog and digital embedded design, including schematic capture and PCB layout, preferably in consumer products or similar and would be familiar with all product development aspects such as cost tracking, BOM analysis, CAM, DFMEA, PCB layout best practices, EMI, documentation and PLM systems, and the use of analysis/measurement tools such as oscilloscopes, data loggers and spectrum analyzers.

Responsibilities:

Design and development of consumer products from initial concept to on-going product

Create visual and functional prototypes for research and internal review

Collaborate with Engineering and Product Marketing teams to innovate, design and implement simple and elegant design solutions

Analyze product requirements, and plan and estimate development activities including electronic subsystem architectural block diagram creation

Develop clear and concise firmware and hardware specifications/documentation and solutions to meet product requirements

Develop and execute test plans for unit testing, and work closely with the system test team to ensure the delivery of high-quality design

Interact with team members from other disciplines to complete project deliverables, solve problems and to report status

Support fielded products, and perform analysis of field-reported issues

Be able to lead and mentor junior engineers and technologists

Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision or guidance

Proven ability to drive innovation in the engineering conceptualization stages by pushing technology limits while balancing feasibility criteria such as manufacturability, cost, technology risk, implementation schedule.

A broad view and understanding of the product development process, and effective experience leading multi-disciplined team efforts in the evolution of products from concept through testing, verification, and approval

Solid analytical skills with strong attention to detail

Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) along with good sound interpersonal skills

Ability to meet deadlines.

Qualifications:

BS or MS in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)

Minimum of 2+ years’ experience in an Electrical Engineering role involving the design and development of embedded hardware and firmware development

Experience in all aspects of electrical design: component selection, system architecture, and documentation

Experience in the development of embedded firmware of microcontrollers, including design, test and debugging is a plus

Experience with motor and motion control is highly preferred

Previous industry experience working for a consumer product company or specific in-home Robot experience is highly preferred.
