Harness engineer

Job Description:

Solers is seeking a Harness design engineer for an opportunity in Bacau, Romania.

The Harness Design Engineer (HDE) is part of the Engineer Team, responsible for product development of low voltage and high voltage wiring harnesses for industrial applications such as robotics, medical, solar, printing.

The HDEwill also support existing design activities for manufacturing, cost, and quality improvements.

Responsibilities:

• Design and development of Industrial wire harnesses
• Translate System Schematics into wiring diagrams and harnesses
• Write Technical Specifications related to harnesses
• Build a great communication channel with the supplier
• Have weekly meeting with supplier to track the product status
• Review the CAD 3D Model and 2D prints for accuracy
• Work with CAD to properly route the harnesses and define the attachment mechanism and attachment points
• Provide technical support to Company manufacturing plant for various build phases and work to manufacturing schedule
• Work with Company plant personals and support activities at the plant such as harness assembly and rework as necessarily (Splicing, taping, crimping etc.)
• Build samples for new projects
• Work with cross-functional module groups
• Review the DFMEA/PFMEA with supplier and provide the input
• Support other wiring engineers and coordinate the changes

Requirements:

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
• At least 3 years related “wiring harness” experience
• Knowledge of checking: Device Transmittal, System Schematics, Wiring Diagrams, and harnesses for accuracy
• Experience with 3D and 2D CAD software applications
• Strong teamwork skills
• Good analytical skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
