IT Business Partner

This is a business relationship management role responsible for engaging with the leadership of a business function or sub-function within a Business Unit. 

The IT Business Partner role is the “Face of IT” to the Business, driving the business value of IT & managing business demand.

 Strategic thinker responsible for managing delivery of business transformation projects, coordinating the IT capabilities required to deliver that program, and ensuring overall client satisfaction through the entire delivery life cycle; may also be required to lead or participate in business unit wide change initiatives, as determined by IT senior leadership.

Supports the IT Director, Business Partner and Business Unit CIO in the consolidation of Business Unit input for the long range and annual plans.

Key Responsibilities:

Builds & maintains strong business relationships, ensuring IT has a ‘seat at the business table’. Represents business function within IT, and vice versa. Develops and maintains relationships with business leaders & teams partnering with the appropriate business sponsors and key users in addressing key business value opportunities.

Ensures IT Portfolio is aligned with business objectives and drives business value. Supports the development and consolidation of business function input for the long range and annual IT plans.  Proactively engages with and involves key business personnel in mobilizing and defining business driven Information Technology solution opportunities against defined business objectives.

Responsible for defining high-level solution requirements with the business and IT. Drives the development of business requirements and concepts for IT enabled initiatives, and translates those business requirements into IT requirements. Develops project business cases to drive value for the business. Advises on appropriate action, including needs for business contingency planning, and countermeasures with respect to implementation of IT solutions.

Serves as the IT Project Lead, overseeing & driving projects to ensure delivery. Leads delivery of functional projects and supports delivery of business unit wide projects and initiatives. Accountable for project cost & benefit estimation as part of the project/portfolio business case. Accountable for overall project/program delivery including timeline, costs & scope, coordinating with the Program/Project Manager on resourcing, issues & risks, scope, budget & schedule. Key point of communications regarding program to Steering Committee.

Requirements:

Degree in IT, business or related curriculum

Master Degree preferred

5-8 yrs working in IT with 1-2 yrs management level experience; including experience working with 3rd Party Service Providers.
Possesses an understanding of the business application of IT for functional area supported. Is effective and persuasive in both written and oral communication at management and operational levels.
Skilled in Business Analysis, Organization Change Management and Project Management
