Java Developer

Our jobs involve developing, maintaining and integrating state of the art, mission critical solutions for core insurance and record keeping systems, in an international context for a leading European Insurance Group.

You will work as part of a multinational group with true, large, enterprise-wide systems, complex architectures and real life constraints (speed, performance, nonstop systems availability and enhanced security and data protection).

Main responsibilities:

• Develop and enhance new JEE web applications, as well as back-end solutions

• Secure applications against hacking attacks and data theft

• Devise and run complex simulations to tests application under high user load

• Perform application maintenance (implement change requests, fix bugs)

• Perform development tests (Unit Testing)

• Adopt and support suitable best practices within the technology domain

Required skills:

•  Good knowledge of OOP concepts
•  Good Java core knowledge
•  Web concepts – hands on experience: HTTP, JavaScript, HTML, CSS
•  Knowledge of Java Enterprise Edition
•  Strong social skills, good communicator both orally and in written form
•  Effective team player in a corporate environment
•  Fluent in English (both spoken and written)

Desirable skills (nice to have):

•  Strong interest in clean design and architecture of large-scale software systems
•  Knowledge of the following frameworks: Struts, JSF
•  German language skills
