Junior PHP Developer

Job Description:

We are looking for a PHP Developer responsible for managing back-end services and the interchange of data between the server and the users. Your primary focus will be to offer support for developed applications and ultimately the development of server-side logic, maintenance of the central database, and ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end. You will also be responsible for integrating the front-end elements built by your team members into the application. Therefore, a basic understanding of front-end technologies is necessary as well.

Required Technical skills:

• Knowledge of object oriented PHP programming
• Knowledge of at least one PHP web framework (Laravel is a plus)
• Familiar with SQL/noSQL databases and their declarative query languages
• Basic understanding of front-end technologies, such as jQuery, HTML5 and CSS
• Basic understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git

Considered as a plus:

• Knowledge of Unix/Linux systems
• RESTful API
• Knowledge of at least one front-end web framework (VueJS is a plus)
• JIRA task management

Responsibilities:

• Design and optimise applications and offer the necessary support
• Integration of multiple data sources and databases into one system
• Creating database schemas that represent and support business processes
• Understanding fundamental design principles behind a scalable application
• Work closely with analysts and business staff
• Testing applications in a controlled environment before push to live
• Review and improve current systems
• Attention to detail and proactive attitude
• Good knowledge of both written and spoken English
