Line Quality Engineer

Mission: Defines, assures and leads the deployment of the plant quality system for manufacturing products and processes for satisfying customers’ demands and achieve the plant’s standards, via direct management of specific activities and resources within the manufacturing lines and within the set health and safety standards. 

Key responsibilities: 

Secures the quality of the manufacturing processes 

• Performs inspections and check-ups on the manufacturing processes;
• Follows-up on the requests of the quality procedures deployed in the manufacturing areas;
• Performs daily recording of specific quality indicators for the manufacturing processes;
• Participates in the performance of internal product and processes audits
• Coordinates the set-up and deployment of action plans associated with quality audits in the manufacturing lines;
• Revises periodically the process capabilities used for the new products and processes;
• Blocks products’ movements in care the product does not meet required quality specifications;
• Supervises internal homologation process for the manufacturing processes;
• Trains operators and maintenance technicians on the quality processes;
• Secures traceability for non-conform products in the process;
• Performs derogation claims for quality issues related to the product and processes;
• Communicates on a daily, weekly or monthly basis the quality results for the assigned lines;
• Posts the quality requirements at the manufacturing work stations;

Management of non-conformities

• Leads the analysis for root-cause analysis for the incidents that generated internal quality problems;
• Participates in root-cause analysis for customer’s claims and reports back the reports for the manufacturing department
• Defines, deploys and monitors the corrective action plan, resulted from various quality audits, within the assigned areas
• Defines, deploys and monitors the deployment of quality improvement action plans and projects for the assigned areas;

Reporting

• Performs daily reporting of specific quality indicators for the manufacturing processes (PPM, scrap cost, action plan deployment status, results of internal quality audits, process capabilities etc.);

Development and improvement of local quality system

• Participates at development of internal homologation process for manufacturing processes;
• Participates at development and upgrading of product and process FMEAs
• Validates acceptance norms for various stages of product manufacturing;
• Approves specific quality documentation (procedures, acceptance criteria, quality instructions, FMEAs and quality plans).
• Develops and improves the internal control plan with local CQEs
• Develops and improves the internal inspection plan with local manufacturing and process engineers;

Continuous Improvement

• Manages the KAIZEN process within assigned areas
• Daily reports the status of Kaizen ideas’ deployment
• Actively identifies improvement opportunities for own activity
• Actively participates in activities and projects for reducing the scrap level in the plant
• Participates at internal and external quality audits
• Performs profitability analysis for implemented kaizen ideas

Communication with stakeholders

• Constantly performs and reports quality related indicators for and within the assigned areas
• Relates with CQE for standardizing and deploying best quality practices
• Follows-up and proposes improved measurements for quality indicators in the assigned areas
• Selects and deploys “lessons learnt” within the manufacturing shop-floor

Requirements: 

• Bachelor degree – technical studies Experience
• Min 2 years in quality in auto industry Technical/ Professional/ Leadership Competences:
• Technical Design, Product Quality auditor, Mini-Tab, Q-Das, process capabilities, SPC, FMEA, CP, PFD Other:
• MS Office, SAP, fluent in English, Six-Sigma
