Required traits and experience:

Linux power user:

• Very good systems administration knowledge of, and work experience with Linux, CentOS 6/7, MySQL, bash, networking, firewalls, web stacks and distributed architectures;
• Some experience with automation systems (Ansible, Gitlab CICD, Puppert, Chef, etc…) would be appreciated;
• Be comfortable with Cisco or HP network gear configuration;
• Virtualisation solutions like KVM, Xen, Vmware;

Preferred, though not required, experience:

• Python, Bash, PHP (scripting) experience

Due to the growing demand for our services, we are now recruiting for a "Linux Administrator" to join our creative workforce on a full time permanent basis.

Our systems are complex, and we have a lot of challenges surrounding the high load nature of the business.

We use Zabbix, Graylog2, PRTG, Gtilab to monitor production, and have a "fix first, fix once" policy, we ensure that any error that occurs is fixed, so that we never have to worry about it again. You will be researching an implementing systems using the latest software and services.

The level of complexity in our infrastructure and new projects is motivating us to evolve.

What the role will involve:

• Operational Analysis (learning & understanding the business)
• Monitoring production using our monitoring systems (Zabbix, Graylog, PRTG etc...)
• Communicating with our internal users about issues they are seeing with our production systems, understanding their concerns, diagnosing, replicating and fixing issues.
• Analyzing issues across multiple application and infrastructure by investigating logs, network traffic, server performance and configuration.
• Support on call, which will involve being Level2 support for our production systems both during working hours and out of hours.
• Propose and implement improvements to performance and security.
• Maintain, create and update documentations and processes.
