Position Summary
The Enterprise Tools and Services team is responsible for ensuring that our Middleware platforms are available for service and can support the demands placed upon it from applications across the MassMutual Enterprise. The ideal candidate must be skilled at working with Windows IIS Administration. They should also have familiarity with other middleware components like supporting infrastructure which hosts the platform (AIX, Linux, HP-UX, Solaris, Windows and Cloud-AWS and Azure). Knowledge of integrations such as and ServiceNow, OpsBridge and xMatters are a plus.
Responsibilities
• Administration of windows IIS versions
• Responsible for configuring the infrastructure and installing IIS
• Active participation in all high priory incidents/change/problem calls & fixing
• Work on rotating 24/7 on-call shift
• Taking care of IIS migrations projects and support app team for migration
• Working with IIS Admin svc, MetaBase, , W3SVC, , app pools, .
• Analyzing IIS and event logs (system, application logs security Logs) • Configuring IIS web sites, application pools, and virtual directories and assigning applications to application pools.
• PowerShell scripting to automate the infrastructure task and IIS tasks.
• Working on F5 Load balancer, Networking, Internet Protocols, Firewall, Router, Wireless access point configuration
• Supporting on other Middleware technologies WebSphere, WebLogic, JBoss, Apache Tomcat along with Unix and Linux administration
• Handle escalated support issues
• Execution and monitoring of system utilities
• Evaluate patches and fixes as needed for potential implementation
• Continuous evaluation of Workload Automation infrastructure components to ensure system resiliency and health
• Work with architecture, business and delivery teams to determine strategic direction for WA platform
• Help users develop and/or enhance scheduling, reports and dashboards for meaningful application metrics
• Identifying opportunities to automate repetitive processes increasing efficiency
• Orchestrating cross infrastructure team work groups to resolve or enhance system performance, incidents and maintenance
• Educate the team and applications teams on new updates
• Communicate and collaborate with other application support teams technical resources and stakeholders regarding status, technical issues and creative solutions
• Administer, monitor and maintain system security
• Research and keep current on IIS technologies and communicate trends and future needs from a business perspective
• Build client trust and respect, establish client relationships, and develop rapport with client • Proficient in ITIL concepts for Incident, Change and Configuration Management
• Advocate the IIS solution and processes and seek partnership with business application teams to solicit buy in through engagement
• Facilitation skills include conducting walkthroughs, interviews and brainstorming sessions.
• Document best practices and operational procedures
• Proven ability to learn and work with new applications in minimal time.
• Can communicate effectively with various user groups, . developers and engineers, as well as remote team members
• Contribute to annual budget planning process and manage APM platform capacity
Basic Qualifications
• 3 to 5 years of experience as an IIS Windows Administrator
• Experience working in Windows Serverenvironment • Ability to own and drive to resolution of issues
• Strong interpersonal skills, as well as excellent communication skills, verbal and written to both technical and non-technical audiences that are in a geographically dispersed environment (conference calls, Teams, Slack, face-to-face)
• Ability to work in a collaborative environment and on multiple assignments at once
• Experience functioning & executing work in a fast-paced iterative environment such as Agile
• Demonstrated initiative to recommend process improvements and demonstrated creative thinking
• Demonstrated self-motivation and the ability to grasp concepts quickly
• Demonstrated sharp, analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills
• Ability to guide / mentor other Administrators and troubleshoot issues
Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in related field
• 5 to 10 years of experience as a IIS Administrator
• Experience with other Middleware technologies
• Familiarity with Amazon Web Services, Azure, Automation, Containerization, and Orchestration tools a plus
• Experience with Docker, Jenkins, CICD Pipeline, modern DevOps tools is a plus
• Insurance and/or financial services industry experience
• Experience using JIRA, Service now etc
• Unique combination of being business-minded and highly analytical while also having a strong and deep technical background on middleware technologies
