THE POSITION AND THE CANDIDATE PROFILE

Role:

Provide leadership and technical expertise in the direction of the Molding and Tool Shop function; follow the proper functionality of the machines relating Molding Department/Tool Shop to optimize line and plant performances; support audits.

Main responsibilities:

Manage the overall activities of the molding department including but not limited to production, processing, machine maintenance and tool maintenance and repair

• Direct and coordinate planning and scheduling of molding manufacturing with the General Manager and dedicated planner to consistently meet expected product delivery schedules and inventory levels
• Responsible for assuring the efficient use of materials, machines, molds, auxiliary equipment and employees
• Responsible for reducing scrap and number of customer complains accordingly factory targets
• Responsible for department’s efficiency
• Responsible for the development and implementation of both the long and short term goals for the Molding Department
• Perform mold set up and color changes to meet production demands as needed.
• Troubleshoot mold processes, machines, and auxiliary equipment problems and make necessary changes to ensure quality and reduce downtime
• Set molding process parameters to ensure product meets dimensional and quality requirements
• Provide technical assistance to molding technicians and operators
• Maintain employee performance review, training, development and disciplinary programs
• Provide leadership in the maintenance of all operational systems and process controls associated with mold processing, mold maintenance, equipment maintenance and repair. (Documented mold set ups, process intervention logs, product dimensional and visual evaluations supporting product requirements, product validations, etc.)
• Assure compliance to all molding area related procedures, policies and work instructions
• Participate in and support the Quality Management System
• Train and develop molding personnel relative to the molding process (Process technicians and molding operators), promote employee understanding and adherence to safety regulations and the Quality Management System
• Collaborate with HR regarding the selection, interviewing prospective candidates
• Evaluate subordinate staff in accordance with the approved assessment by the Internal Rules
• Document, report and maintain all critical production information
• Support new tool design and development
• Coordinate outside repair and sourcing for tooling and machines

 Personal and Professional:

• Education and experience minimum of 10 years injection molding experience with at least 5 years in a lead technical or mold department management role

• Degree in Mechanical, Electro-mechanical, or equivalent qualifications or experience
• Good knowledge of English, Italian will be considerate ad advantage
• Self-motivated and goal oriented, with a positive proactive attitude and a high degree of initiative
• Ability to effectively analyze data, identify issues and generate solutions
• Ability to take initiative, set priorities and take ownership of assigned projects
• Ability to work with personnel at all organizational levels
• Autonomy, ability to work to targets, resistance to repetitive work, team player, meticulous and constant work, complete the profile
• Grade and salary will be commensurate with ability and goals
