Oracle Database Administrator

As a member of a large team of database administrators, you will be responsible for operational database activities. You will see to the optimal functionality and performance of the Oracle database environments for one of our clients, from the Telecom industry.

Responsibilities:

• Develop scripts/programs for extending functionality of IT solutions or for automating recurring activities
• Make technical investigations for performance incidents and examines issues arising in order to determine the causes and provide / propose solutions to solve the identified problems
• Define technical requirements, designs, configures and implements solutions that contain databases
• Optimize the existing solutions by redefining database architecture or by making software upgrades to increase efficiency and to meet the new requirements of the business
• Ensure operation performance parameters as imposed, integrity and security of databases for IT and telecom applications
• Provide support for implementing projects at high quality and efficiency standards
• Provide active support for transformation programs and other technology refresh programs that are designed to ensure/increase service availability and reduce downtime and increases the quality / performance of these services
• Ensure the 24/7 on-call shift (1 week every 8 to 10 weeks)
• Update and maintain the professional knowledge and technical skills in order to maximize your own expertise and to apply it optimally within the organization

Candidates must possess:

• Knowledge of database administration in a production environment
• Knowledge of Oracle or Microsoft Sql Server database administration
• Knowledge of SQL tuning
• Knowledge of programming in PL/SQL and shell UNIX/Linux
• Knowledge of Oracle RAC technology, Data Guard, Grid/Cloud Control, RMAN, Datapump and so on
• Knowledge of ITIL
• Understanding IT Service Management concepts (ex. ISO20000 standard)
• Knowledge of the principles SOX
• Knowledge of general security principles
• Above all you are extremely eager to learn, passionate and enthusiastic with both a passion for IT technology as empathy for your clients
• You are not afraid of new challenges, are a team player and like to help your team members
• You are encouraged to analyse complex problems and build, defend and execute the necessary action plans to remediate them
