The Development Team

We have a fast paced environment, changes occur daily and new ideas are always valued and considered. We love to base our decisions on evidence, reason and user testing. We are a small team so we don’t waste time writing long cumbersome documentations, but we make sure that every task is first fully understood and that everyone in the team understands what we are building and why.

We like to use the best tools available to write code. This means that sometimes we have to mix between old established methods and new revolutionary ones. Currently this mean PHP, MySQL, Laravel, MailGun, Git, AWS and more.

Your Role:

We’re looking for a skilled PHP developer to lead, inspire and grow alongside the development team. In this role, you will have the overview & control of our PHP architecture and Laravel framework, work with an inspirational team and implement ideas to strategically drive our back-end system to the next level.

This role comes with great options of career progression as you will be one of the first full time full stack developers on many of our systems, in a business that has a strong customer base and huge opportunity. You will be working on multiple projects simultaneously, being it one of our in-house applications or custom systems we build for our renowned customers.  

Key responsibilities:

• Architect, design and deliver best in class solutions to technical challenges / client opportunities;

• Initiate, promote and allocate the resources for technological innovations;

• Be up-to-date and passionate about new technologies. Evaluate their potential for Opinsta to continuously drive change;

• Ensure and improve performance, reliability, flexibility and maintainability of Opinsta systems;

• Support test-driven development, continuous integration and continuous deployment;

• Collaborate with and provide technical consultation to the team;

• Foster continuous knowledge transfer between front & backend developers;

• Troubleshoot, test and maintain the core product software and databases to ensure strong optimization and functionality;

• Develop and deploy new features to facilitate related procedures and tools if necessary.

Skills & Requirements:

• +3 years’ experience in programming with PHP Laravel and MySQL databases;

• You have completed a degree in Computer Science or related field;

• Experience with Amazon web services (AWS) is essential;

• Significant experience in tech project management / leadership;

• Experience of App integration (API) is essential;

• You have experience leading a team or project from beginning to end;

• You are hungry to learn and are up-to-date on the latest web-technologies;

• Your passion for Agile Development (Scrum, Kanban) is infectious;

• Demonstrable knowledge of web technologies including HTML, CSS, Javascript, AJAX etc;

• Experience in common third-party APIs & third party integrations (Google, HighCharts, Maximo, SalesForce, etc).

• Good knowledge of relational and noSQL databases, version control tools and of developing web services;

• Passion for best design and coding practices and a desire to develop new bold ideas.
