Content & Editorial Department
The Planning Manager supervises the requirements planning for the Content and Editorial department. The Planning Manager reports directly to the Content and Editorial Manager and works closely with the Production Manager and the Team leaders.
The Planning Manager is accountable for all general planning issues for the existing data production.
The Planning Manager maintains optimally efficient inventory of data production and resources . Creates planning studies and generates reports about new projects and plans.
Competences
- The candidate has a bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, project management, logistics or business administration and can provide the education to work in a project management position;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English;
- Analytical capabilities in combination with;
- Strong computer skills in a Windows based environment and computer databases;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to direct employees and prepare reports for senior management. Managers must have the ability to act decisively to resolve problems and must have strong interpersonal skills to motivate and instruct employees in the company;
- Ability to prioritise workload and complete work assignments under rigid deadlines;
- Knowledge of automotive; a specialisation or work experience in the automotive aftermarket is preferred.
Responsibilities and Powers
- Supervises the requirements planning for the Content and Editorial department conforming the HaynesPro requirements;
- Prepare monthly planning based on the goals of the company and the available resources; prepare worker schedules per author together with the Team Leaders;
- You are part of the Technical Steering Group and will take part of the regular TSG meeting assemblies;
- Host quarterly planning meetings to establish 3-months ahead planning (agree with stakeholders);
- Re-negotiating timescales or schedules as necessary;
- Sets goals, policies, and procedures for project;
- Assessing project and resource requirements;
- Performs surveys and field studies;
- Communicates with other managers, supervisors, and colleagues throughout project;
- Ensuring source material is available in advance of production cycle according to planning;
- Prepare and present reports and metrics to Senior Management;
- Identify and organise needs for routine production tools/software;
- Estimate, negotiate and agree on budgets and timescales with the senior management.
