Plant controller

Main objective of the position

The Plant Controller is a key person in the plant leadership team, responsible for planning and coordinating plant budget and business planning activities in alignment with corporate policies and practices.  The person will provide financial direction to the plant and provide recommendations to improve site performance providing a strong financial leadership. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, G/L, Inventory/Cost Accounting and Revenue Recognition, ensuring compliance with appropriate Group standards and regulatory requirements

• Manage month-end-closing and prepare monthly financial reviews for the site as well as other operational reports, according with the FG Group standards

• Analyze variances and communicates explanations to management with recommended actions
• Ensure transparent, reliable and accurate controlling information to support management decisions
• Supports the management in the preparation of the forecast, budget and create the final reports for these
• Consistently analyze financial data and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicate monthly, half year, and annual financial statements (incl. special requests from headquarter)
• Supporting year-end closing activities and maintaining master data (in SAP- CO)
• Performing different additional tasks required by the division and also direct superior
• Participate in: audits, cost center planning, determine the transfer price for the intercompany product sales and approves cost products
• Monthly actual cost calculation and comparison with the standard cost
• Provides proactive / unsolicited consultation, interpretation and education of complex financial and operational matters to various departmental leaders used to drive business decisions
• Driving continuous improvement, preparing and updating desktop procedures, process and work instructions

 Reports and KPI’s

• Provide periodical and ad hoc reports (Project status reports, Capacity reports)

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence in pursuit of solutions

Reporting Relationships:

The  Plant Controller  Will report to the Head off FI/CO

Required Skills:

• University Degree in Controlling, Finance or Accounting
• Analytical, problem resolution skills
• Proactive business orientation, with demonstrated attention to detail and high levels of accuracy in execution. Excellent organizational skills with ability to prioritize multiple projects and execute accordingly
• Minimum 3- 5 years’ experience
• Attention to detail, pro-active, hands-on, drive to  be successful
• Good SAP knoledge ( 1-3 year experience); Excellent  knowledge MS Office
• Excellent English knowledge (writing and speaking) German language is a plus;
• Structured, careful and analytical way of working
• Team player and ability to work in a flexible way, resilient
