PLC Engineer

The Powertrain division focuses on efficient and clean vehicle drive systems. Here, the division works to improve the performance of injection systems, turbochargers, transmission control units, sensors, actuator systems and exhaust-gas after treatment. At the same time, it paves the way for the electrification of vehicles with efficient systems technology and economical vehicle integration.

Job Description

• Industrial Engineer is responsible to realize production of components and products by selection of appropriate processes and equipment;

• Provide specifications, timeline, launch targets for RFQ (request for quotation) phase;

• Support industrialization by monitoring equipment status and pre-release at supplier as well as proper build-up and final release in our location;

• Participate at Project Kick-Off meeting and communicate Operations requirements (process, equipment, timing, launch targets);

• Support initial Lean Check Workshop with expertise in production processes and manufacturing technologies;

• Create or select equipment specifications according to defined manufacturing concept;

• Support set-up and update of Process-FMEA together with FMEA moderator;

• Provide updated documentation (process flow and line layout);

• Provide input to update all needed Standard Work Instructions for new and modified processes and products;

• Regular monitoring of equipment (invest, timing) including pre-acceptance and delivery;

• Coordinate line installation;

• Perform line validation, including capability studies, parameter settings, etc;

• BoM Risk Assessment by reviewing preliminary BoM - determine new material for the plant - identify risks for manufacturability considering technologies and raw materials;

• Review and release raw material for all phases (development, sample builds, PV builds, series production);

• Perform internal sample builds to check line integration through MES (manufacturing execution system) considering rework flow;

• Provide line documentation (maintenance plan, parameter sheets, handling instruction);

• Implement training for identified requirements considering production, rework, analysis and customer returns - optimization of processes (cycle time, automationimprove parameter settings (together with Manufacturing Technology).

Job Requirements:

• PLC engineer has to have good knowledge about Step 7 and/or TIA;

• At least 3 years of programming on one of the 2 softwares;

• The main requirement is experience in PLC programming in Step 7 and TIA;

• Advanced English skills;

• University degree in engineering.
