What we’re looking for

Our Big Data Team is seeking a Product Owner to help our organization build cloud services in Data Search perimeter. This perimeter is part of a large private cloud ecosystem that aims to provide all the tools and services needed to build software solution efficiently.

The Product Owner role is leading an Agile team located in Bucharest - the Data Search team. The team contributes to an international program of around 200 people – two SAFE trains organizations, fully Agile – aiming to build the private platform to be used in Orange group.

The Data Search perimeter contains several technical project streams around Elastic Search (ELK stack) - ESaaS, ES Shared - that are in production but also other streams that undergo build phase.

We are looking for a functional and technical expert who will undertake the tasks and activities related to the Product Owner role but also lead the team in creating other cloud products / services inside the Data Search perimeter.


What you’ll be doing

Product Owner role

  • Own the product and services built (accountable for the team product backlog) and track the results for potential improvements and opportunities
  • Build relevant and useful products: analyze the needs of internal and external customers in close connection with the Product Managers in order to build / create innovative products and services focusing on customer experience and needs (or needs and experiences)
  • Build pricing models to be applied to the products in order to ensure delivery of value (billing model and TCO, ROI)
  • Lead the RUN of products and services built by the team in production (ensure the SLA agreed for production along (in close collaboration) with operations team)
  • Create and Own the roadmap of products and services inside the perimeter and communicate to the team and the train organization regularly.
  • Understand and challenge technical solutions chosen by the team
  • Contribute to the overall consistency on the Big Data activities across various teams in our Lab
  • Agile methodology related activities: Program backlog grooming and preparation with the PM and PO team, teams’ meetings, define/write/adapt/detail (including HTD, various writing and splitting techniques) product backlog user stories (at least 1 sprint in advance)

Product Owner Activities

  • Work closely with the Product Manager to propose new products and negotiate implementation planning and roadmap
  • Participate in working sessions with customers to identify needs and ways to improve product
  • Maintain the product and services roadmap up to date, and make it fully transparent and available towards the team and the Product Managers
  • Manage the product backlog in collaboration with the help of Scrum Master and the implementation team
  • Anticipate / groom and prepare the upcoming sprints and PI preparation
  • Define the acceptance conditions of the features at program level and stories at team level
  • Contribute to the validation of features / stories delivered


What you need to know/have

  • Experience in technology and software development as Product Owner or any other relevant role
  • Demonstrated knowledge in the analysis and design of technical solutions in complex environment
  • Experience of working in complex scaled international environments
  • Experience of work in Agile and DevOps practices / frameworks
  • Good knowledge of service platforms (software technologies, system and network infrastructure, security) and API architectures
  • Knowledge of Elastic Search technology – ELK stack
  • Ability to link the technical choices to business aspects (balance of costs, customer need, service quality, etc.)
  • Ability to incorporate a project service management requirement after the start of production (operational, control changes, etc.)
  • Sense of customer service, service level agreement
  • Proven interpersonal skills communication, flexibility and openness, strategic direction, ability to work in team, negotiation, stakeholder management
  • Good written and oral communication, analytical skills and technical understanding skills
  • English: fluent level // French is a plus
