Job description:

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Production Manager to join our team in Ghimbav plant, Brasov county for our premium products for carlines such as: Mercedes A & B class, Jaguar Land Rover and others.

The production manager will be responsible for day to day supervision of the manufacturing activity in the injection & assembly area, ensuring an efficient and cost effective manufacturing environment performed in accordance with our safety policy, IATF quality standards and technical specifications.

Key responsibilities:

• Organize and coordinate the production activity in their area of responsibility, keeping in mind the objective of on-time delivery of the parts (both quantitative & qualitative) to ensure customer satisfaction
• Responsible for preparation, communication and prioritization of the set-up plan for each machine in their area of responsibility, together with the logistics department
• Ensure that technical and quality requirements of the manufactured parts are made according to the technical specifications, together with quality & technical departments
• Has a proactive role in identifying the root cause following quality claims and is responsible for efficient implementation of quality corrective & preventive measures in the production area, together with the quality department in order to achieve & reduce the target scrap rate
• Run the daily start-up meetings together with production foremen/team leaders and support functions and ensures a smooth communication within the team
• Responsible for preparing the daily reports, and also for completing accurately the SQDCM boards in their area of responsibility
• Report specific KPIs on a weekly and monthly basis with countermeasures to close the gaps, if needed
• Cooperate with technical department (process engineers, maintenance, tooling)  to provide solutions for process issues & implement them accordingly
• Make budget proposals to ensure cost efficiency (manpower, tools, machines, other improvements) and track the budget implementation on his/her area of responsibility
• Draw up requisitions for the production area, according to the released authority chart, in collaboration with the purchasing department;
• Responsible for the accuracy of inventory in the allocated area and for maintaining consistency between scripted and factual information
• Responsible for 5S implementation & continuous improvement
• Responsible for manpower qualification & development, in collaboration with the human resources department
• Responsible for prioritizing and solving any problems that arise in their area of responsibility

Job requirements:

• University degree in a technical field;
• Relevant work experience and a minimum of two years in a manufacturing environment and in a supervisory role. Minimum three years of experience in a similar position in automotive industry;
• Technical understanding of the overall manufacturing and quality processes.
• Basic knowledge of special processes (. injection, painting, welding, assembly) is considered an advantage.
• Demonstrated knowledge of automotive quality standards: IATF, VDA
• Demonstrated knowledge of quality instruments: FMEA, Ishikawa, PPAP, 8D, CC/SC, customer specific requirements
• SAP knowledge is considered an advantage
• Lean Manufacturing knowledge / 6 Sigma tools are an advantage, 5S is a minimum requirement
• Advanced command of English language/intermediate level of German language is an advantage
