The purpose of this role is to enhance the company’s reputation externally, throughout all relevant means, for all relevant external stakeholders. The person will need to work cross functionally with key internal stakeholders to execute, build and deliver the key messages and content, to further strengthen relationships with all levels of external contacts, including opinion leaders, influencers from Romania and abroad, including Group level, media and social media stakeholders.
Key responsabilities:
1. To build and deliver the key messages and content to be shared externally:
- To provide communications that enhance the company’s reputation externally, in line with the company’s strategy and to build a strong brand favorability for Vodafone Romania
- Planning, managing, executing and delivering corporate communication tactics and contributing to the strategy, plans and projects, contribute to building a strong brand and further enhance the external reputation
- To further drive positive perception for the Vodafone Foundation in the social media
- To build messages, provide support and guidance for external speeches and presentations.
- To strengthen the company top reputation with opinion leaders, influencers, the media and social media, as well as relevant business partners, ensuring that appropriate relationships are built and maintained.
2. To build and deliver PR commercial launches for different Business Units and special projects (one-offs):
- To build, deliver and execute PR messages for all relevant business units. To provide PR support to all internal stakeholders on external communications activities.
3. To create and deliver best messages at events, conferences, industry meet-ups:
- To build messages, provide support and guidance for external speeches and presentations.
- To strengthen the company top reputation with opinion leaders, influencers, the media and social media, as well as relevant business partners, ensuring that appropriate relationships are built and maintained.
4. To create, deliver and execute social media projects for PR launches:
- To make sure that the company’s reputation in the online environment is enhanced or, in case of a crisis, affected as little as possible.
- To maintain Vodafone’s position as top social brand
Key competencies and requirements:
- 5-7 years in Corporate communications & Public affairs.
- Detailed understanding of Tier 1 media dynamics, and experience of social and digital media techniques and how to use them
- An understanding of how to work effectively across cultures and to build a sense of collective advocacy, empowerment and engagement between people of different backgrounds.
- Solid understanding of the business environment and ability to choose the most relevant spokespersons and to adapt messages so that the communications objectives are achieved.
- A high level of emotional intelligence.
- Experience working with matrix structures and a non-hierarchical environment.
- Experience working with top management team members, including CEO.
- Experience in working with mother-company and other group representatives and in adjusting strategies and tactics to various markets.
- Proven ability to adapt to new environments/contexts and to adjust quickly to new challenges in order to deliver efficiently the key messages to the appropriate stakeholders.
- First-class copywriter and outstanding oral communicator with strong public presentational abilities.
- Knowledge of national and regional media, policy landscape and key regulatory and policy institutions.
- Demonstrable ability to be a self-starter who thinks strategically, devising new and better ways of working.
- Ability of taking ownership of complex projects requiring extensive resources (human, budget etc.) and assuming responsibility for aligning and coordinating multiple level stakeholders, internal and external – company departments, agencies and other providers, beneficiaries, partners.
- Strong track record of achievement in delivering integrated multi-audience communications strategies intended to bring about a shift in perception.
- Manage internal and external stakeholders for specific corporate communications purposes and projects
- Writing press releases, presentations and other PR materials
- Identifying opportunities to promote the corporate and company officials messages
- Coordinating PR events and the participation at external conferences
- Monitoring the news about Vodafone, competition and overall telecom industry
- Creating special monitoring reports
- Working with the project teams and stakeholders to position the services from a PR perspective
- Liaising with journalists and Social Media influencers to promote Vodafone’s services and consolidate the brand image
Education:
- University studies (journalism or PR - preffered)
- Post-university studies and certifications in communications (journalism or PR)
