Regional Quality Engineer

Role Purpose & Overview:

The Regional Quality Engineer/Coordinator will coordinate/lead effective problem solving efforts for more complex manufacturing issues at suppliers, customers or F-M Braking facilities when required in the respective region, as well as representing Braking Quality with external customers and suppliers. Coordinate relevant training/coach and work with the Plant Quality Managers, Manufacturing and Engineering to drive measurable improvements of processes, systems, and information.  In addition, work with Quality Managers from other geographic regions to develop global standards. Support quality audits at suppliers and F-M Braking facilities and complete necessary audit follow-up.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Standardization of quality procedures in the respective Braking regions.
• Support supplier development and evaluation of suppliers.
• Implementation of a preventive quality mindset culture in internal and external audits in all the respective regional plants.
• Support and follow up on customer audits of the respective regional production sites and Technical Centers.
• Broadcast and follow up on a FMOS/Six sigma culture in its respective region.
• Ensuring alignment, achievement and standardization of KPI’s between all respective regional plants.

• Coordinate, coach and participate in problem solving efforts at suppliers, customers or F-M Braking facilities in the respective region.
• Conduct/Support complex quality audits like BIMS, IATF, ISO/TS, VDA, PSA (product safety) at F-M Braking facilities or suppliers for its respective region.
• Support manufacturing sites for extraordinary customer or supplier related issues/concerns.
• Liaise with Engineering and Manufacturing to support continuous improvement activities at Braking facilities.
• Support critical NPI projects through F-M braking plants in its respective region. 
• Self-motivated, proven leader and ability to learn quickly.
• Drive lessons learned and best practice sharing across sites and regions.
• Capable of providing any other additional support as requested by the Regional Quality Manager/Director

Qualifications or Functional Experience: 

Essential

• Degree level education in Engineering or equivalent.
• Min. of 5 years of quality/ lean/manufacturing/ engineering work experience required in an automotive industry.
• Experience in leading a cross functional team.
• Auditing (External/Internal) experience required. (ISO/TS, IATF, etc).
• Internal Auditor Qualification (IATFVDA ).
• Good understanding and practice in using problem solving tools.
• Experience of high volume manufacturing environment.
• Experience in project management.
• Computer literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
• A Practical knowledge of automotive core tools such as PPAP, APQP, MSA, SPC, Control Plans, PFMEA, Process Flows.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• A logical approach to problem solving.
• Data driven.
• Language: Fluent English.
• Communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
• Must be ethical, open-minded, tactful, dependable, observant, versatile, self-reliant, reach conclusion based on logical reasoning and analysis, have an awareness of and able to understand situations.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Manage multiple assignments
• Available for travel up to 50% of time

Desirable

• Six Sigma green/black belt.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications. (GD&T)
• VDA Lead Auditor.
• IATF16949 Lead auditor.
• Product Safety knowlwdge.
• Knowledge of SharePoint, Reliance or other data base tools.
• Capacity to ‘think outside the box’
• Interaction between personal (interpersonal) and communication skills
