QS is seeking a motivated individual to take up a position of Research Analyst. Working closely with colleagues in our London office, this position will require a combination of precision, data awareness, communication skills and interest in higher education. On a day to day basis this typically involved liaison with universities around the world via email and telephone, checking and validating data, other data gathering activities and answering complex questions from universities and other interesting parties. Ultimately, the role will support the delivery of the QS World University rankings and our other regional and dimension-specific rankings which have a global audience in the 100s of millions.
Who are you?
We are looking for a candidate keen to build a care in the area of educational research with strong focus on Higher Education.
As well being able to demonstrate a genuine interest in Higher Education, you will have analytical insight and some familiarity with working with data. You will also be an effective communicator who is equally happy and confident responding to email queries as getting on the phone and talking to people. You will be resulted-oriented and dedicated to contributing to the success and development of our business unit and its research outputs.
Responsibilities include:
- Data collection - gathering correct information from universities directly via email, website, phone or third party sources
- Data entry – accurate data entry into existing databases and other systems
- Data validation – determine if data is accurate, complete or meets specified criteria
- Correspondence - dealing with university representatives or third party clients, handling inquiries
- Research - research the web or other applicable sources for useful information
- Research Outputs – contributing to high quality and insightful research outputs
Gathering the correct information from universities can be a challenging task and often required to surprise the level of skill, tenacity and diplomacy as well as a healthy appetite for problem solving.
