A Day in the Life

The main purpose of this role is execute country specific implementation of key technologies and therapies development strategies & tactics plans, to achieve Medtronic growth targets within a Specific Business Unit (SBU). As the key point of contact for a selected group of relevant Accounts in the region, the employee will be responsible for the expansion and protection of Medtronic sales in these accounts through Customer Relationship Management, promotion and sales of specific SBU, and the coordination of all Medtronic Sales teams to provide support and valued-added services to our customers, to ensure effective long term partnerships, to create a demand for product and assure the process for revenue sales income according with the country specific sales strategy for achieving the sales targets: 

· Lead and define the overall approach and strategy towards the account, considering the need of each product lines and possible global agreement of the Company
· Achieve annual sales targets for specific SBU in terms of revenues and margins
· Control and monitor the execution of contracts,
· Lead negotiation towards the customer, by developing the strategy and creating the project account teams
· Assess the market situation and lead the price strategy per account 
· Identify business opportunities and coordinate with the sales teams to execute and accelerate on these opportunities
· Develop and drive appropriate portfolio management strategy in collaboration with BUs to gain, expand and protect market share, optimize pricing strategy , and build long-term contractual agreements
· Facilitates country specific implementation of key field development strategies & tactics.
· Build and maintains excellent relationship with Customers, Hospital administrative staff, local KOLs and all other Health Care System Stakeholders
· Create a demand for product and assure the process for revenue sales income according with the country specific sales strategy
· Develops and executes local awareness programs to improve specific target education.
· Evaluates program impact. Implements continuous improvement.
· Communicates proactively to all levels of management and stakeholders.
· Provide interventions support during procedures in OR
profile· Assures alignment with Regional Market Development strategy. 
· Ensures alignment of education and clinical activities with the country strategy.



Must Haves and Nice to haves: 


· Healthcare related (medical or scientific) degree or its equivalent (preferred); additional Business degree a strong plus
· Minimum of 5 years of sales experience in health-care/device sales (preferably with capital equipment) 
· Thorough knowledge of the decision making and buying processes within hospitals
· Experience in working with distributors in the region is preferable
· Ability to understand patient care pathway, diagnose customer challenges and opportunities, articulate personalized value proposition and translate this into innovative business models 
· Thorough understanding of the health care system and health economics 
· Proven ability to drive business for short and long sales cycles
· Solid market analysis skills and strategic thinking 
· Excellent networking, communication and presentation skills, leading to results through influence
· Excellent skills in applying various business models to customer needs and in developing business cases showing financial impact of offering for Medtronic and customers (profitability and cash perspectives)
· Ability to work with all levels of the matrix organization, internally and externally 
· Strong customer and business focus 
· Good knowledge of the business drivers and trends within the medical device business 
· Ability to identify potential business opportunities and to execute for results 
· Good understanding of challenges of healthcare system players (patients, providers, payers, legislation)
· Excellent skills in customer negotiations and unveiling of specific challenges of customers (incl. drivers of challenges and their implications)
· Ability to shape structured offerings based on identified challenges
· Extended knowledge and understanding of the country tender laws and of how building a strategy around tendering for innovative solutions 
· Lead by influence managerial skills
