Senior accountant

Job description

• Performs end to end accounting for RO entities managed in non-SAP ERP, Fixed Assets, Inter-Company, VAT and Tax reporting transactions
• Performing full accounting exercises and/ or review accounting entries performed by junior team members
• Assuring that all records, transactions, reports and documentation are compliant with Romanian regulations
• Preparing tax and related returns, as well as accurate and timely calculations, submissions and settlements of liabilities to the state budget according to tax regulations (VAT, Corporate Income Tax, WHT);
• Audit and statutory support for local GAAP
• Intrastat and other statistical reports preparation and submission
• Processes payments and vouchers according to the defined procedures and accounting principles and legislation
• Produces routine reports, schedules, and summaries for management
• Scans statements, ledgers, and accounts to identify unusual or overdue items and selects the correct procedure to verify or adjust discrepancies or errors
• Month end closing activities
• Ensure all journal entries comply with internal and external audit specifications
• Cash pooling, pension, social plan payments and payroll related reconciliations
• Meet internal deadlines
• Seek opportunities for central testing, automation and process efficiencies
• Coaching junior accountants in developing their professional competency
• Ad hoc support for business queries as and when they come in.

Ideal Candidate

• University Degree in Accounting or Finance and ACCA, CECCAR nice to have
• Knowledge of IFRS nice to have
• Advanced knowledge on the use of accounting software SAP is a MUST
• Well organized, detailed, analytical individual with Accounting and Financial experience; reporting experience
• Strong skills in Microsoft Office (Excel etc.)

• Must be able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team and take on new tasks with high level of difficulty.
• The individual will be expected to work with minimal up-front guidance and take ownership of his / her work product. The individual will work closely with the CFO.
