Senior BI Consultant

Ideal Candidate:

Our BI team is currently looking for a new member that poses a firm grasp of BI implementation methodologies and has in-depth experience with the Microsoft BI Stack (SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS).

Main responsibilities:

Responsible for building, implementing and supporting Microsoft BI solutions.
Involved in all stages of BI projects (requirements and logical design, physical design, implementation, testing, and deployment).
Data gathering, research, and analytical abilities so as to develop insightful conclusions and generate solutions to address user needs.
Translating business requirements into functional and technical specifications.
Create written communication materials that effectively summarize findings and support recommendations.
Effectively manage and maintain environments (Development, UAT, and Production) including installation, configuration, patching, maintenance, user management, and report management.
Provide time and effort estimates and lead projects of various complexities.
Documents and analyzes system requirements in great detail.
Create database objects such as tables, views, stored procedures, triggers and functions to provide custom functionality as per the requirements.
Participate in the development and creation of Data warehouses, complex BI solutions.
Data Mining, predictive analysis.
Create cubes in SQL Server Analysis Services.
Ensures that workflow and internal (IT) procedures are applied within the business process and is compliant with external and internal regulations and procedures.
Designing, coding and documenting effective technical solutions.
Tests the applications (internal testing) and takes part in UAT: provides application training to the key users, ensures support through the testing process.
Provide post-implementation support.

Specific technical skills desired include:
3-5 years of experience in a similar position.
Expertise in the various technologies needed to implement Microsoft BI solutions.
Strong MS SQL development skills (queries, stored procedures).
Experience with Microsoft full Database Stack (T-SQL, SSIS, and SSRS).
Experience with reporting tools (Reporting Services, Crystal Reports).
Data Warehouse / Solution Design.
Dimensional Modeling (Kimball Methodology).
Analytics / OLAP Cube Development (MDX scripting).
BA/BS degree in computer science, information technology, engineering or related field.
Knowledge of project management methodologies and best practices.
Time management skills.
Multi-tasking abilities.
Ability to work independently or collaborate with team members when necessary.
University degree – preferable computer Sciences or related technical disciplines.
