SENIOR / LEAD C&I ENGINEER

JOB SUMMARY:

Senior/ Lead C&I Engineer shall provide technical leadership and guidance to all staff engaged on the project. The senior/lead is accountable for technical integrity of C&I activities, producing and maintaining deliverables (including but not limited to Drawings, Calculations, Datasheets, Technical specifications, Material Requisitions, Technical bid evaluations, Schedules, MTOs) in accordance with industry standards, codes and client specifications within the schedule and budget as set-out by the Engineering/ Project Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:

The responsibilities of the Senior/ Lead C&I Engineer shall include, but are not limited to:

• Plan and Implement the C&I Engineering activities on projects and tenders under the direction of Engineering Manager
• Lead, coordinate and manage the discipline group. Ensure the safe, effective and successful implementation and delivery of engineering projects.

• Plan and identify resource requirements in consultation with Engineering Manager.

• Ensure safe, effective and successful implementation of process engineering activities within budget and schedule requirements;
• Thorough knowledge of DCS, ESD, F&G and SCADA systems generally incorporated in major oil /gas project is essential;
• Understand process measurements, Relief/ control/ ESD valves, Analyzers, equipment protection system (Vibration/temperature), fire systems and PLCs;
• Prepare Material requisition, Technical bid evaluations and review vendor drawings;
• Take part in Hazop, SIL, 3D Model reviews, Construction reviews, Design reviews;
• Review materials take-offs and bill of materials. Ensure that the quantities are within budget and any changes are documented with approval from Engineering Manager/Project manager;
• Create/ review 2D drawings such as Hook-up drawings, Loop Drawings, Block drawings, JB drawings, Cable Schedule, Drum Schedule, Cable routing, Instrument Location drawings, F&G;
• Layouts, control room drawings in accordance with Client specifications;
• Bring to the attention of the necessary parties, any problems, assistance or matters that may affect quality, deadlines or costs;
• Participate in reviewing and checking designs, drawings and data from other parties/execution offices;
• Establish good working relationships and communication with all Leads, Managers and clients;
• Interface with Subcontractors, Suppliers and Vendors for completion of engineering activities;
• Adhere to the HSE requirements stipulated by Company/Clients;
• Maintain Quality documentation and report any non-compliances for process improvement;
• Undertake any other general duties that may be requested. The list of duties is not exhaustive in any way and may change at any time.

 QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

• Degree in Instrumentation / Electrical engineering from an accredited university or equivalent;
• Experience in similar position working for EPC Projects in Oil & Gas sector, especially in C&I engineering activities;
• Ability to demonstrate previous experience in the use of software like SPI/ Intools, Navisworks;
• Fully familiar with international codes, standards and recommended practices to be adopted during FEED & EPC phases of oil/gas projects.
• Good interface knowledge with other disciplines especially Process, Piping, Mechanical etc. and knowledge of all discipline documents and drawings is required;
• Familiarity with HAZOP/Hazid, Functional safety and SIL reviews;
• Experience in Telecommunication System Design . PA / GA, Telephone, LAN, CCTV, Radio, Access Control, etc. would be an added advantage;
• Sound working knowledge of industrial best practices engineering and experience with Factory Acceptance Testing;
• Verbal and written communication using English is mandatory.

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum 10 years of work experience in the Oil & Gas industry with at least 5 years in similar position.
