SENIOR / LEAD PROCESS ENGINEER

JOB SUMMARY:

Senior/ Lead ProcessEngineer shall provide technical leadership and guidance to all staff engaged on the project. The senior/lead is accountable for technical integrity of process activities, producing and maintaining deliverables in accordance with industry standards, codes and client specifications within the schedule and budget as set-out by the Engineering/ Project Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Plan and Implement the ProcessEngineering activities on projects and tenders under the direction of Engineering Manager;
• Lead, coordinate and manage the discipline group. Ensure the safe, effective and successful implementation and delivery of engineering projects;
• Plan and identify resource requirements in consultation with Engineering Manager.
• Ensure safe, effective and successful implementation of process engineering activities within budget and schedule requirements;
• Prepare Conceptual designs and process development reports, Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID), Block Flow Diagrams (BFD), Process Flow Diagrams (PFD), Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID), Process engineering calculations, Material and energy balances, Basis of design process scope documents, Process equipment specifications, data sheets, bid tabulations, Equipment lists, line lists, and tie-in lists, Process system construction specifications;
• Accountable for the successful completion of assigned engineering tasks and preparation of engineering deliverables;
• Monitor/supervise the work of less experienced process engineers and assist with training.
• Interface with other internal engineering disciplines (mechanical, civil/structural, electrical, instrumentation, automation, architecture, etc.) to ensure a coordinated design and complete engineering deliverables;
• Interface with Client and vendors to define project scope, resolve technical issues, and assist with preparation of procurement documents;
• Participation in Client/contractor meetings, preparation of meeting minutes and action items lists;
• Field trips to Client site as required to determine existing as-built conditions;
• Size and select equipment, materials, and process systems;
• Assist in the preparation of engineering project proposals;
• Check vendor drawings to ensure design accuracy and compliance with specifications;
• Construction support activities including responding to submittals and RFIs.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

• Degree in Process engineering from an accredited university or equivalent;
• Have significant and provable work experience;
• Process simulation experience with HYSYS or other software a must;
• Knowledge of AutoCAD a must;
• Computer skills in Microsoft Office a must;
• Familiarity with API, ASME and ANSI and European Standards a must;

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum 10 years of work experience in the Oil & Gas industry with at least 5 years in similar position.
