Senior Reinsurance Accountant

We are Euler Hermes and we are looking for a suitable candidate for the position of Senior Reinsurance Accountant who will become part of our team in the Euler Hermes Romania - Bucharest office and will be responsible for reinsurance accounting for the countries in the DACH region.

We would be happy to welcome you in our team if you would like to have the following responsibilities:

1. prepares monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements according to HGB and IFRS in FS-RI and FS-FI and prepares reinsurance accounts (20%)
2. prepares reinsurance technical reporting, reporting, statistics and documentation and carries out data analyses in FS-RI, FS-FI and Estimo (15%)
3. supports the contact persons at EH Re in maintaining SAP FS-RI and develops and maintains the Estimo system and monitors the interfaces to SAP FI (10%).
4. advises internal and external bodies on general insurance and structural issues relating to reinsurance (20%)
5. develops suitable models for calculating certain loss reserves in accordance with German commercial law and international standards (IFRS) (5%)
6. calculates the lump-sum loss reserves and provisions under German commercial law, the IFRS loss reserves and models the premium reserves (5%)
7. checks and verifies the plausibility of the technical accounts/monthly closing (10%)
8. Acts as World Agency (WA) SPOC of the DACH region, advises internal departments on all WA finance and accounting processes (5%)
9. deals with fundamental questions/ accounting policies and develops concepts (10%)'

Education: Study of economics or comparable education
Additionally desirable: International accountant
Specialist skills:
- High level of detailed and methodical knowledge Reinsurance knowledge (active / passive) according to HGB and IFRS
- international IT project experience (testing, analysis)
- Controlling knowledge for the evaluation of reinsurance data
- high flexibility (work flexibility due to Fastclose deadlines, project requirements)
- Detailed and methodical knowledge of accounting according to HGB and IFRS, especially insurance accounting
Technical skills
- safe handling of MS-Office products (especially Excel) and SAP-FI
- highest willingness to work with various systems (. SAP FS RI, SAP FS - FI, folder programs, Estimo)
Language skills: very good English skills in spoken and written
Additional skills: strong analytical skills, conceptual thinking, quick perception, assertiveness, solid accounting and process knowledge of the data displayed in accounting, independent working styleWork experience: 3-5 years
