 The Test Engineers we are looking for are focused on project success, team sustainability and growth. They are constantly enhancing their knowledge in the specific domain, working to understand the product from the user’s perspective, and preoccupied by performance and security. They will participate in the communication with other teams or departments, contributing to and taking decisions regarding software testing strategies and approaches.

The main focus will be on evaluating our Laboratory Management System, a product that seamlessly links data from the lab to the business operations of the enterprise with specific functional offerings such as sample management, stability testing and laboratory inventories as well as workflow and 3rd party intergation offerings. 

This is a great opportunity for someone with a real passion for software testing as part of agile software development. In this role, you will be working collaboratively with developers and testers to help ensure delivery of high quality products through the application of effective testing and automation techniques.

Responsibilities

As a  Senior Software Test Engineer you will:

• Testing software deliverables through a combination of both manual and automated testing techniques.
• Collaborating closely with other agile teams, Subject Matter Experts, Product Owners and Architects to ensure integration of components, applications and instruments to ensure the delivery of valuable product releases.
• Drive continuous improvement activities in test approach and strategy with focus on improving effectiveness.
• Playing an active role in our agile software development approach, for example attending team ceremonies, contributing inputs and opinion to planning activities, reviews and retrospectives
• Taking part in our global cross-Informatics testing and automation community
• Defining a plan for your personal development in your own area of specialism, and pursuing this with the support of your manager to undertake the training and learning to progress.

As a team member you will:

• participate in all team meetings and ceremonies in direct collaboration with other sites, provide input and feedback, take ownership on identified improvements
• actively participate in learning and sharing activities either during informal or formal training and demos
• demonstrate continuous technical improvement  and support technical development of the team

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Life Science, Chemistry or appropriate scientific field
• Proven experience in defining test strategies, test design and test execution for software product development.
• Knowledge of agile testing concepts and practices ideally combined with practical experience of their implementation.
• Capability and experience in working collaboratively with others to achieve a shared goal.
• Experience in testing laboratory management products is a plus

The following criteria are desirable, but are not essential since training will be provided for you:

• Knowledge and experience of implementing software test automation, and working with automation frameworks
• Experience in BDD, continuous integration / continuous delivery
• ISEB / ISTQB certification at foundation level
• Knowledge and experience of contributing to continuous improvement
