Software engineer

Job description:
Microchip Technology is looking for a talented experienced Software Engineer to expands its DevTools department in Bucharest, Romania.
The successful candidate will be part of an international team that designs and develops the web-based new generation ecosystem of synergically working tools for rapid development, design of applications and code-generation.

The individual selected for this position - depending on her/ his level of seniority - will be responsible for the following objectives:

• Design and develop web services and applications that are part of the new ecosystem of tools for rapid development, design and code-generation
• Work with system architects to ensure a smooth and effective user experience
• Collaborate with a wide range of other engineers to provide a superior product to our customers
• Provide salient technical input, in manageable terms, to stakeholders, management and teammates
• The ability to mentor both up and down the reporting hierarchy is strongly desired

Job Requirements:
Must have:

• at least 2 years experience in web development, front-end, back-end
• Professional experience (and willingness to work with): TypeScript, JavaScript, , graph databases (neo4j)
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Experience in using source control and agile software development
• Experience with continuous integration & deployment tools
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline
• Good communication skills
• Verbal and written communication skills in English
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for interfacing with architecture, validation, manufacturing, and other discipline

Nice to have (but not mandatory):

• Knowledge in (some of) the languages and frameworks such as: Java, Python, C/C++,
• Experience with Jenkins or equivalent tool
• Experience or knowledge of agile development
• Experience with Atlassian toolset (. JIRA and its plugins)
• Experience with object oriented programming languages
• Experience with hardware and board testing
• Knowledge of IEEE 1588
• Knowledge of phase lock loops
