Software Engineer for Keysight Laboratories

If you are a software engineer, experienced or interested cloud software and how this can be applied to telecom (5G), with an eye on the future evolution of the wireless world and wants to contribute to the uprising of 5G, this is a job for you!

Our corporate research laboratories are opening a team in Bucharest, Romania focusing on the development of advanced cloud testing applied to 5G Systems.  Leveraging on large set of 5G existing products we combine them and automate the solution (leveraging open source test automation ) to validate the 5G network.

Responsibilities

The work will focus on implementing and improving the internal prototype and bring it to the commercial readiness level.

As part of the job, you will need:

• Identify and solve the new challenges implied by the introduction of cloud technologies and advanced network management within the wireless communications domain. Network Functions Virtualization testing and Analytics are central to the activity;
• Create new features, solving bugs, writing testcases;
• Get involved in devops;
• Integrating other technologies into our solution;
• Writing documentation;
• Sketching architectural drawings.

The position will require minor travel to meet with internal partners and to engage face to face on technical issues with the internal Keysight groups.

Qualifications

• Programing experience of minimum 5 years and have a good understanding or strong desire to learn about cloud;
• Strong background and practical experience in software development, preferably for cloud environments or telecommunication systems;
• You have experience in some of the following skills:
  • Object oriented programming (preferably C#)
  • Front-end experience (Angular, node js)
  • Back-end experience (REST-API, gRPC)
  • SOA, microservices
  • Databases (sql, nosql, timeseries)
  • ELK, EFK, Grafana
  • AuthN/AuthZ
  • Docker
• University degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or similar;
• You are fluent in English (written and Oral).

It is seen as a plus to have experience with the following:

• Message Brokers (RabbitMQ, NATS, Kafka);
• Analytics algorithm development, Artificial Intelligence tools;
• Familiarity with cloud and Cloud Native technologies (OpenStack ecosystem, Kubernetes ecosystem, Helm, Rancher);
• Knowledge of automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Robot;
