Software Test engineer

Main Purpose of the Job:
To perform test delivery activities within projects or on small changes/BAU. You will take responsibility for all allocated test deliverable; performing analysis activities during test preparation, ensuring that Test Cases give the coverage of all details within the user stories/requirements, executing tests and recording results and reporting any issues through the agreed defect management process. Ensuring that all test deliverable are produced in accordance with our quality standards and that all deliverable are peer reviewed to drive quality into the testing process.

Qualifications and Experience specific to role:

• ISEB/ISTQB Foundation qualified or equivalent
• Manual testing (although knowledge of automation would be advantageous)
• Financial Services would be beneficial
• 12mths experience in a testing role
• SQL Server Management Studio would be beneficial
• Experience of Jira and TestRail would be advantageous

Key Accountabilities of the Job:

• Production of Test Cases and Test Scripts.
• Test execution and documentation of results, including defect management and retest of defects.
• Liaising with Business Analysts and Software Developers to ensure understanding of requirements and development solution.
• Identifying and communication of test related issues and risks.
• Providing test estimates.
• Planning of and execution of regression tests and ensuring this suite of tests is maintained as new functionality is delivered.
• Providing regular progress updates to the Test Lead.
