The Tax Specialist will provide support to the Sustainalytics Associate Tax Director based in Timisoara and will work closely on tax projects with the Finance Team.

Job Responsibilities

• Manage the international tax compliance calendar and support the timely delivery of statutory income tax provisions, corporate income tax and VAT filings and support required audits for Sustainalytics’ subsidiaries
• Liaise with external tax advisors for obtaining various tax forms required by the sales and legal teams (tax residency certificates, withholding tax specifics forms)
• Update on a monthly basis the tax provisioning files and tax cash flows for the group entities
• Work closely with the accounting team on tax entries, tax processes set-ups, tax return reconciliations
• Liaise with the sales and legal teams for support on tax items in each jurisdiction (. regional tax inquiries, review of tax clauses in contracts)
• Liaise and work closely with Accounting, Finance, Legal and Tax teams on a range of integration tax projects
• Proactively analyze and update the Tax team on changes in international tax legislation

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Degree in law or accounting (CPA or equivalent) or graduate degree in taxation
• 5+ years of relevant tax experience in a corporate environment, public accounting firm or ma-jor law firm
• Significant experience in Canada and international taxation concepts, with an understanding or practical experience with US GAAP, OECD transfer pricing regulations and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance requirements
• Demonstrate a solid understanding of transfer pricing concepts and current practice
• Strong technical writing and tax research skills
• Strong communication skills and ability to articulate complex tax laws in a business setting
• Demonstrated ability to successfully lead complex, milestone driven projects, including the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams
• Demonstrated ability to manage others, both directly and indirectly
• Strong technical, analytical and problem-solving ability
• Detail-oriented individual who takes ownership of projects, is organized, possesses excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and is able to deliver on tight deadlines
• Highly motivated, hard-working, and able to work in a fast paced, informal, and often ambiguous environment
• Ability to build collaborative partnerships with internal and external business partners
• Intermediate/advanced skills in the use of Excel and other relevant software programs
